CMS50EW has built-in Bluetooth capability. To use Bluetooth, your computer should have the capability to pair with a Bluetooth device, which is already embedded in many newer computers. If not, you would need to purchase a Bluetooth USB dongle, which is available for around $12.

You can also attach different probes to a CMS50EW. Depending on your application, you may need different types of probes. For example, in a sleep apnea study, a silicone pocket-style probe would work better to keep the sensor on the finger. Bluetooth is disabled when using an external probe.

Another key feature of CMS50EW is the built-in alarm for the pulse rate and SpO2. If any reading falls outside the defined range, the alarm would sound so one can take appropriate actions. The ranges are specified in the system configuration menu. One customer uses the CMS50EW to wake up his wife in case his SpO2 level falls below a certain level.

CMS50EW can store up to 24-hours of data, which can be transferred to a computer.

The pulse oximeter CMS50EW has a rechargeable lithium ion battery, which is good for up to 24-hours of continuous usage. The battery can be recharged via an USB port or an AC adapter.
